4 Types of Storage Containers You Can Rent

Posted on

If you need a little extra storage, and you want that storage to be mobile and not tied to one physical location, you may want to rent a storage container. A storage container can be dropped off at your home or work, allowing you to easily fill it up with the items you need to move. You can keep the storage container on-site, pay to store it on the grounds of the storage facility, or even ship the storage container and its contents to a new location. There are four different types of storage containers you can rent.

Standard Storage Container

The first type of storage container you can rent is a standard storage container. A standard storage container is a rectangular shape and made of metal. Most standard storage containers are eight and a half feet tall, the height of a standard shipping container. The length of a container can vary, from ten feet in length to a standard 20-foot long unit or an extra-long 40 foot storage container. On most storage containers, the doors open on one end, although you can rent a storage container where the doors open on both ends, and where the doors are located on one long side of the storage container.

Insulated Storage Containers

Second, you can rent an insulated storage container from storage container services. The walls inside of an insulated storage container are covered with an insulating material. There is a reduced chance of water getting into your storage unit when you rent an insulated storage unit. Additionally, an insulated storage unit will help protect your belongings from extreme temperature changes, as the insulation should help keep the temperature inside of the unit at a more consistent temperature.

Refrigerated Storage Containers

If you are storing something that you need to keep cool, you are going to want to rent a refrigerated unit. A refrigerated unit will keep everything inside nice and cool. However, you will need to provide a power source for a refrigerated storage unit or keep the generator that runs the refrigeration unit supplies with gas in order to keep the unit cool. A refrigerated storage unit is a great solution if you have goods to keep cool, and are up for the responsibility of keeping the unit running.

Office Storage Containers

Finally, there are office storage containers. Office storage containers turn a storage unit into a mobile office. You can also rent a mobile office and storage combination. Office storage containers are often used during remodeling projects, or if you have a mobile business, such as a construction business, where it is nice to have the office on-site as your work location moves around.
